Gas Station Rescue

One of our volunteers saw a post on Facebook that there was a baby kitten at a Shell gas station off of I-20. She was so upset that someone would dump a 5 week old kitten.

She drove 45 minutes with a trap and hoped for the best. She trapped the kitten within 10 minutes but the little girl managed to break out the side of the entrance to the cage. After 2 hours, the volunteer was able to grab the kitten by the scruff and put her in the carrier, she used kitten cries on her cell and the kitten walked near her looking for other kittens.

Our non profit got Shelby spayed and up to date on vaccines and we got her adopted. We believe Shelby was dropped off at the Shell station as she tested negative for parasites, and she didn’t have any fleas which is unheard of in GA in the summer.
