Mangey Kitten
A volunteer saw a post on Facebook in November 2021 that this little tuxedo needed medical help. She was covered in Sarcoptic manage. Genna’s brother had been taken in by Alissa but Alissa couldn’t afford to take on another cat and the associated vet bills. Our volunteer posted and asked if someone in Atlanta could trap the kitten and drive her to East Cobb, and Catlanta Care would cover the medical costs.
The kitten disappeared for about 6 weeks and reappeared in early January 2022. Andrew, an ATL TNR volunteer, helped Alissa trap the kitten and drove the kitten to East Cobb from Atlanta. We were able to cover the medical bills and our foster was able to nurse Genna to health.
After 2 ½ weeks, the vet gave the green light to move Genna from our garage to our downstairs bathroom where we worked on socializing her. Genna was accepted by Good Mews Animal Foundation on 3/18/22 where our volunteer visited her every day for 15-20 minutes to continue working on her socialization.
The volunteer met the Kitty Buddy Coordinator during this time and this is how Genna was put in the Kitty Buddy program. Genna was adopted from Good Mews on June 26th. Genna became a very confident cat even though she had a tough 5 month start to life.
